Leave your gadgets, go sleep its midnight!

The new progress in the field of technology has taken our pleasant sleep away. If you are like many of  those who find it very hard to stop checking updates on their phones, late at night and try to fell asleep. Then you too are a victim of modern technology's side effects.

Waking up all night has become a very general habit over time, and technology plays a huge roll in encouraging that. We are so deeply submerged in the ocean of this modern techno world, that sometimes we even forget that our mind and body needs rest (sleep) to work properly.

Well, the experts call this 'bedtime procrastination'. When you are trying hard to sleep but your mind keep processing stuff, and you can't manage to even take a nap. I face this problem regularly, and people call me a 'night owl'. It's true that sometimes I don't go to bed at night because I got some work to be done, but it's also true that sometimes when I don't have any work I still find myself awake all night. This is a problem which i'm unable to solve.

Anyway, today I was reading an article about bedtime procrastination in which they suggested these tips...

  • Finish eating two to three hours before going to bed.
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol before you hit the pillow.
  • Take a hot bath or listen to soothing music an hour before sleep time.
  • Sleep in an area that is dark, comfy, quite and cool.
  • Use your bedroom only for sleeping. Gadgets should be out of that room.
These are the tricks they have suggested. Now i'm going to try them and lets see if anything works well or again i find myself checking updates on my laptop... You try this too!

First post with the MacBook Pro...

Hah! After a very long time I am taking part in any blogging event, due to the damage of my desktop I was unable to take part in anything online. So I was looking for a laptop from a long time. I searched for many brands but nothing caught my eye personally and finally I chose the one big brand Apple. Yah, I brought an Apple Macbook Pro. So now I can do all this freaking things that I was missing from past few months.

And here is my first post for Write Tribe's 100 words on Saturday...

Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.
― Louis L’Amour
.....

This is a very true saying by Louis l'Amour. Mostly people get stuck at the moment they sit for writing, because they can't find any topic to write on...

Here is the trick you just got to start writing. I mean anything that comes to your mind. Whether it is about what you have done today or a close memory that you remember. or just start writing about how you are stuck and can't find a topic.

Whatever it is, just start writing, and when you do that hundreds of new ideas will start coming to your brain, and you will find yourself in a situation like 'oh I can write on this' and 'oh I can write on that'. You just got to open the tap and let the water flow.

An Inspiration : Shahrukh Khan

Today I was watching the Anupam Kher’s show, whose name is also ‘The Anupam Kher Show…. Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’. It’s a chat show. Well, there are lots of chat shows in this Bollywood industry. But I found it very special because it’s not a gossip show in which you try to reveal the current status or secrets of a star. It is one of its kind. It’s very gentle. In this show they try to understand what the actor have been throw this journey. And how he/she became what he/she is today. It is about the backdrops and uplifts they faced. And what motivated them to keep going.

Well, today Shahrukh Khan came on the show. Actually the show comes in two episodes, one, every Sunday. So today was the second Sunday and the final part came up. It was so inspirational to see Shahrukh speaking his heart out.

He tells about many of his life incidents and experiences. That how his father motivated him and how he and his wife Gouri met each other. He playfully said that, it’s obvious for every creative person to be up all night.  He also tells about his emotional side that, how sensitive he is. He explains that, he never knew, what he wants to become in life or probably wants to be a filmmaker but never thought about being an actor. And his father always says that “jo kuch nahi karte, wo kamal karte hain” which means ‘the people, who do nothing, do a miracle’.

So, finally they prove the fact that never underestimate yourself because ‘Life Main Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’ which means ‘Anything Can Happen In Life’.

Social media that makes us unsocial

Back to blogging after a very long time. And I tell you what this feels amazing. A place where you can share your thoughts, write about your liking and disliking. I just love it.

For a last few weeks I was a little ill. Illness is such a mess. It feels so bad when you can’t go out, you can’t do whatever you like. It’s like the world is moving ahead and you are tucked in a place.

I always wanted to do something but can’t do because of illness and I get so much distracted because of this. Cause I never want to stop working. The small life we have, I want to make the most of it.

However..

Today I was watching a video that shows me the importance of being social in the real world. And also tells that how social media making us unsocial. I would like all of you to watch this video by Gary Turk.

India is a victim of backward mentality

I am shocked to read an article on the times of India that a woman was gang-raped in front of the entire village. I read that, just because she loved a man from a nearby village, the kangaroo court puts a fine of Rs.50, 000 on her family. And without giving them a night’s time to arrange money, the headsman ordered rape, like it was a free for all. And almost the entire village agrees with the decision.

It’s a shame for the entire country that even in this modern period there are still people in our country with such crap mentality, who can anytime cross all the limits of brutality for any idiotic cause. How will we get rid of this inferior mentality?

In the era when the Indian youth is increasing the level and value of the country by their hard work and advance thinking, there are people in the villages who are still prolonging their ancient norms. This is harm full for the country. Ill-mindedness is like a termite to the country, which is giving us huge harm.

Most of the cases of rapes and physical violence are the cause of ill mentality and creepy backward thinking. We have taken many steps to give protection to girls and to give more power to law and make it strong. But how shall we change the foolish thinking of the people. How will you make them accept the modern norms? Without making everyone aware of things we shall always be unable to demolish crime.

Strangers In The Night

It was 1:30 in the night. I was coming back from a friend’s party. My car was moving 80km/h on the deserted streets.

Just then someone called me ‘Excuse me!’

I stopped the car and looked behind. It was a girl running towards my car.  ‘Can you please drop me to Yamuna Nagar, it’s already late and there is no cab here.’ She explained.

I examined her, she looks innocent. I realized that Yamuna Nagar is in my way, so I nodded.

                                    -              -              -              -              -

Now, after six months from that day, we are in a relationship. But during that drive, we were just strangers in the night.

Power of your inner curiosity!

It happens to me most of the time, whenever I decide that today I will spend all my day by doing work, the day passes by without even starting it. And the day when I don’t even think I’m going to do something, I complete most of my work that day. I never understand why it happens to me so often. When I force myself to do everything, my mind fills with stress and confusions, and I don’t find myself able to do anything. But when I let myself free, I do lots of unexpected stuff, which I haven’t really planed.

I think it happened because when I order myself to do something; I stop my thoughts from moving ahead. I force my mind to do what I’m saying instead of what it is prepared to do that time. It’s a common problem, it can happen to anyone. The most important part is to let us do what our mind wants.

If you keep forcing yourself, your mind will get so much stress, you will get irritated, and you will not be able to do anything for a period of time. But if you let your mind to do what it really likes, you will find yourself in peace, you will not get stressed, and you will be doing things which you’re always planning or thinking to do, but never get a chance, you will find yourself chasing your dreams, and you will do it with such perfection. That is the power of your inner curiosity. So, let yourself go! And live your dream…..

The most amazing Bollywood movies of 2013!

The year 2013 has been fantastic for the Hindi Film Industry (Bollywood). Where some movies have started a benchmark by their extreme success and some found their place in the hearts of the million viewers. Whether it was a love story or an action thriller, if the content and the work in the movie had been good people just loved it! This was the year when audiences started focusing on the storyline, direction and the other important points rather than its budget and their favoritism.

Here is a list of movies, released in 2013, who had been (according to me) the most promising, deserving, heart touching and the most prestigious movies of the year...

Dhoom 3

After a very long gap Yash Raj Films have finally released the third installment of the Dhoom series and it takes on the box office smashingly. The Third sequel has been released after 7 years, when the first movie was released in the year 2004 and the second took place in 2006. Cause of the success of the previous two blockbusters, this has become the most awaited movie for the industry. And when it releases, it meets the expectations of the audience.

Raanjhnaa

A movie, who spreads the aroma of love into the atmosphere. The most beloved and heart piercing film of 2013. This was the first Bollywood film of the Tamil actor Dhanush. Film's script and story line leads the film to unusual heights. Even the music of the film was very likeable. It was composed by none other than A. R. Rahman. The movie shock the box office collections of INR340 million (US$ 5.2 million) in just one week.

The Lunchbox

It was a very low budget, small film. But with an amazing concept of 'how two people connect with each other through a wrong delivery of a Lunchbox' the movie succeed to create a place in the hearth of the viewers. And there are two amazing actors of the industry Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui to give the film a backbone.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

A film based on the life of the legend Milkha Singh. It inspires all the youth and how the director  Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra portrays Milkha Sings's life is phenomenal. Actor Farhan Akhtar plays the role of Milkha Singh in the film. The excellent writing and Farhan Akhtar's work in the film leads the movie to extreme heights.

Krrish 3

The Indian superhero took flight again in 2013. Krrish 3 is the third movie of the Krrish series. This time the movie releases with some great motion graphics and visual effects, which affects the audience and the movie scores well at the box office.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

The film was based on the William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. The credit of the success of Ram-Leela goes to the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his amazing direction and how beautifully he presented the modern version of Romeo and Juliet. The dialogues, sets, costumes, performance everything were superb in the movie, and when they all come together, they make Ram-Leela a complete entertainment package. The work of the lead actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone was also admirable.

So, these are the movies, which I think are the best movies of 2013. Tell me which movie did you like the most last year!

My Photography-3

This is a picture of the Charbagh Railway station, Lucknow, Utter Pradesh, India. It's an evening scene in which I captured the front side of the magnificent station building.

Charbagh Railway station, Lucknow, Utter Pradesh, India
Like any other station, Charbagh in a day and night active place, where everyday a bunch of crowd gathered to catch their trains. The front side of the station is designed beautifully and the architecture of the building is absolute phenomena. For the city, the look of the station is not less than a trademark. If you ever look for the photographs of Lucknow, you will definitely find a picture of The Charbagh Railway Station in there!
